Albin 30 Ballad
Description
The Albin Ballad (also known as the Ballad 30 or Albin Ballad 30) is a Swedish cruiser-racer sailboat designed by Rolf Magnusson as an International Offshore Rule (IOR) Half Ton class yacht, evolving from his earlier Joker S30 racer. Built primarily by Albin Marine in Sweden from 1971 to 1982, approximately 1,500 hulls were produced during that period. After Albin Marine ceased operations in 1982, the molds were acquired by the Ballad One-Design Association and leased to various Swedish yards (e.g., Shipman Sweden AB), resulting in a few additional boats until 1998. It's renowned as one of Scandinavia's most successful and popular sailboats of its size, blending racing performance with cruising comfort. The masthead sloop rig and fixed fin keel make it versatile for club racing, coastal cruising, or short-handed offshore passages, with a reputation for stability and seaworthiness.
