Alacrity 19
Description
The Alacrity 19 is a classic British trailerable sailboat designed by naval architect Peter Stevenson in 1960 as a versatile cruiser for recreational sailing. Originally developed from the wooden Alacrity 18, it was adapted into a fiberglass version for greater durability and ease of production, becoming a popular choice for coastal and inland waters. Built primarily by Hurley Marine Ltd. (in partnership with Russell Marine Ltd.), it was produced until the mid-1970s, with over 200 units constructed. The design evolved into the slightly larger Vivacity 20 in 1963, but the Alacrity 19 remains appreciated for its simplicity, seaworthiness, and affordability. It's particularly suited for solo or small family day sailing and short overnights, with twin keels allowing for shallow-draft beaching and easy trailering.

Disclaimer. Boats are not all the same -- even when produced in the same factory of the same model. Sailrite does its best to publish accurate dimensions, but we often find it worthwhile to have our customers measure their boats carefully before we produce kits for them. You should take the same precautions, especially when the data is not from Sailrite.
