13' 7" MacGregor Canoe
Description
The 13' 7" MacGregor Canoe is a classic glued-lapstrake plywood sail-paddle canoe designed by Scottish naval architect Iain Oughtred in the 1980s. It draws inspiration from 19th-century decked sailing canoes pioneered by John "Rob Roy" MacGregor, who popularized solo cruising vessels that could be paddled with a double-bladed paddle or sailed. This design serves as a modern, lightweight evolution—beamier and more stable than Oughtred's smaller sister design, the Wee Rob—making it better suited for carrying sail while remaining elegant and portable.
