1960 – 1969. Built by one man, a fine craftsman, a German engineer who worked for NASA. (There’s bits from the Apollo program on the boat!) I bought it from the maker’s widow nearly 20 years ago. Hull design by Vancouver naval architect Brendlmayr. Classic early 60s shape, wineglass, cutaway forefoot, long tiller, keel hung rudder. This is a beautiful, classic, unique boat. Net 8 tonnes. 8 layers of (original) hand laid fiberglass over strip plank mahogany, silicon bronze nails and resorcinol. This boat is strong,  heavy and seakindly, and will come out best in a collision :) Spruce mast (36′) (hauled and fully refurbed a few years ago with 10 coats of Sikkens), spruce 17′ boom, club foot jib. Original A4 engine, that was running well till end of Feb. Original custom stainless water tanks (120 gal), 50 gal Monel fuel tank.Cast lead keel,  Original Wilcox Crittenden Bronze fittings throughout. Cabin is all varnished wood. 6’ standing headroom in main cabin. Still has the original radio-direction finder. Full suit of sails, old but usable. A full sized, unused,  original custom made heavy duty canvas snow cover is included.

I was out of town on a long trip in this recent unseasonably rainy spring. Water got in,  inundated batteries, some wiring and the automatic bilge pump. Due to pandemic its overdue for a haul and bottom paint. I’ve sailed and lovingly maintained this boat for nearly 20 years. I’m a skilled wood and metal worker, but turning 68, its more than I can now manage. If you’re ready for a project, get in touch. Price negotiable, to the right person (I just hope someone will love it). Currently on a mooring that may be transferable. lightweight rowing dinghy and all kinds of parts included. More details and photos on request, serious inquiries only please.
