About Randy Peterson
Randy Peterson is a resident artist of Forest Lake, Minnesota, who's been involved in the graphic arts field for more than 20 years. His collection began with illustrations of lighthouses around Minnesota, but it has expanded to include other Great Lakes and both coasts. He uses pen and ink in a technique called stippling or pointillism. Each original illustration takes 30 to 50 hours to complete. Randy says, "I've decided to draw a series of 30 lighthouses. This limited-edition print series features 18 lighthouses from the Great Lakes Region, six from the East Coast, and six from the West Coast. My hope is that the series will raise public awareness about lighthouses and prevent them from becoming extinct." He is, of course, still working on completing this series of 30. He is also working on commissioned drawings for bed and breakfast inns. If you have a favorite bed and breakfast, you might want to tell the proprietors about Randy's gorgeous renditions of lovely buildings in terrific settings. "My artwork is represented in various parts of the world: China, Germany, India, Japan, Norway, and Sweden. Some of the people who have received my prints are former President Mikhail Gorbachev and his wife, Raisa, of the Soviet Union; Past President of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Robert Cheney, and Past President of the Lions Club International Rohit C. Mehta of India," Randy notes.
